My group has excellent and up to data equipment. In the Biocenter central facilities such as an isotope laboratory, a Center for Microscopy, and the Center for Molecular Biology with modern equipment are available. My main research interest is in genetice and molecular biology of higher plants and fungi, with emphasis on RNA processing in plant mitochondria as well as the biological function of secondary metabolites and transposons in fungi. Research is fundet by the DFG, EU, and industry.
