"The World of the Vikings" offers a historic introduction to the period frorn the 8th to the 13th centuries and gives a geographic overview of the areas to which the Vikings traveled. The film treats the names and origins of the Norsemen, their voyages, raids and trade connections. The essential finds and findings of the rnuseums and settlements from Gotland to Greenland and L'Anse aux Meadows are described, and excerpts from other productions supplement this film. |
