Conference venues

The public lectures on June 7th as well as the modeling course will be located at the Ecology Centre of the Kiel University (see http://www.ecology.uni-kiel.de/ecology/). The address is Olshausenstrasse 75, at the western part of the University campus. The Ecology Centre can be reached by the following bus lines: Bus stop Leibniz-Strasse – Line 61 (direction Suchsdorf), 62 (direction Projensdorf), 81 (direction Botanischer Garten). All these bus lines start at the main station, and they need about twenty minutes to reach the Olshausenstrasse.

The workshop will take place at Salzau Castle, which is located about 30 km in the east of Kiel City (See http://www.kulturzentrum-salzau.de/de/start/index.php or Google Maps). As this is a rather remote place, there will be a bus transfer on June 8th and June 10th. The bus to Salzau will start at the Kiel Main Station on June 8th, 08:30 o’clock in the morning. Participants are asked to meet at the information desk of the railway station. The ride back to Kiel station will start at 15:00 o’clock on Thursday afternoon. It will take about 30-40 minutes.

If you arrive at Hamburg Airport, you can choose between two bus services (called Kielius and KielEx): Both start in front of the terminals at the arrival level. You can download a schedule at the web page http://www.kielius.de/de/id425.htm. In Kiel the bus terminal is located right besides the main station.
