Discover further education, IT training, personal coaching, language courses and intercultural projects for your individual career path, among other things.

Developing your personal skills

From project management and mindfulness exercises to personnel management, we offer a broad portfolio of seminars, workshops, advice and certification. Included are courses such as ‘Language, voice, body – stepping out with confidence in everyday working life’ or ‘Targeted self-management: resource-focused, well-structured’. Language courses and international cooperation

Alongside classic English courses, we offer our staff English-language group and presentation coaching and business and refresher courses. We enjoy collegial exchange with nine European universities as part of the SEA-EU university alliance. Our partnership with universities such as Cadiz, Gdansk and Malta provides training and networking opportunities for all our staff. These include tandem programmes and language courses, job shadowing and cultural and sporting events as well as visiting teaching posts and joint research. Learn more.

Our International Center is your point of contact for questions about academic stays abroad and our international network. The Welcome Center is our hub for international researchers and guests: our team will support and advise you on any questions concerning your work at Kiel University and your new home in Kiel.

Strengthening digital competencies

Virtual workspaces, programming languages, tools: we offer our staff training around digitisation, software use, research data management and digital infrastructure. Experts from Kiel University Central Library provide advice on media literacy, databases and knowledge management. We’re constantly training our teachers and researchers in the area of media didactics and e-learning in particular.

Individual coaching

Alongside a range of workshops, courses and programmes, we also offer our employees one-to-one assistance. Professional coaches can support employees with new tasks, leadership responsibilities or professional challenges. Our Personnel Development Department and Continuing Professional Development Centre are here for you.
