The MOIN CC

Who we are?

We are the Molecular Imaging North Competence Center – the joint DFG Core Facility of Kiel University and the Faculty of Medicine for preclinical imaging. As a competence centre of the state of Schleswig-Holstein, we have been supporting your research with innovative imaging and image analysis since 2010. Our close cooperation with the Section for Biomedical Imaging (SBMI) of the Department of Radiology allows us to offer you a range of methodologies – including some that are not yet commercially available.

Our Mission

What we offer

Would you like to enrich your research with imaging? Or do you have images that you would like to evaluate quantitatively? Then you’ve come to the right place. We’ll discuss the possibilities with you and support you through the entire process; from the legal requirements (including ethics),  to the imaging application, including the processing and analysis of the images. We’ll be happy to publish together with you and prepare applications for third-party funding.

Research areas

From ESR, KKH and LRK to RTL, BWL and VWL ...

What’s unique about the MOIN CC concept is the bringing together of a variety of different imaging methodologies under one roof. One method alone can’t see everything – interactions between multiple methodologies hold particular promise. Please see below for an overview:
