Corona-Update: New state regulation for December

Dear University Members,

Yesterday, the Federal Government and the State Governments agreed on the continuation and partial intensification of the current corona measures that apply since the beginning of November. The corona measures will last until December 20, 2020.

As you know, these decisions now need to be implemented by the State Governments. On the basis of yesterday's decision and the communication of the state government so far, we assume that the currently applicable regulations will essentially be continued in December. However, we must of course wait for the concrete regulations in Schleswig-Holstein. We will inform you – probably in the course of this week – as soon as we have knowledge of these regulations and their implementation has been eventually clarified at the CAU.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all university members for their disciplined and patient adherence to the rules at the university; you all contribute to the fact that we, as a university, have come through this pandemic quite well so far, and that the restrictions in university operations in research, teaching, administration and services are manageable. Please also be disciplined and patient outside the university and in your private life – this is the only way we will be able to reduce the high infection rates in Schleswig-Holstein and currently especially in Kiel in the long term.
