Further information on covid tests for students at Kiel University who are not fully vaccinated yet

Dear Students,

As announced in our mailing from 19th October 2021, you will receive more detailed information on our supervised Corona antigen tests.

The service exclusively aims at students of Kiel University, who can prove at least a first COVID vaccination. For a limited time, from 22nd of October to the 25th of November 2021, we offer those students supervised Corona antigen testing. The service is free of charge.

Kiel University will supply the test kits; tests are only performed at the locations listed below. Please note, free testing at official testing stations, like the one at the hexagon building opposite the Audimax is not possible!

The staff on site transfers the test results – as your 3G proof – directly into OpenOlat. It´s our goal to swiftly equip you with a 3G proof and enable you to attend courses or enjoy a meal at our canteen. A written certificate is not issued and therefore the test result cannot be used as 3G proof for other institutions (e.g. other universities) or public life (e.g. restaurants).

When is the service available?

The service is available every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7:30am to 2:30pm, starting on the 22ndOctober and ending on the 25th November 2021.

Where will the tests be conducted?

  • on 22nd, 25thand 27th of October at the testing tent at Neufeldstraße 10.
  • from 29th of October to 25th of November2021, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, at Olshausenstr. 75, S1./R.17.

What do you need to bring?

Please bring a valid Kiel University Card to proof that you are studying at Kiel University and a proof of your first vaccination. Test results will be uploaded into OpenOlat only. Please note, NO written certificates will be issued.

Further to this, make sure to bring a mobile device (smartphone, laptop, tablet) since you need to present your proof on site when accessing a course or lectures. For detailed information on proofing your 3G status with OpenOlat please visit the Corona pages of Kiel University.

If you have any questions about this offer, please do not hesitate to send an email to our consulting service “studying in times of Corona” coronaberatung-studium@uv.uni-kiel.de and Sandra Elstner will gladly assist you.

At this point, please allow us to highlight the vaccination offer at Kiel University’s campus. On Thursday 21stof October, from 9am to 4pm, you can get vaccinated by mobile teams. They are based right opposite the Audimax and offer two different types of vaccines. It´s a walk-in service, so there is no need to arrange an appointment. To check waiting times and usage of the vaccination service, please refer to the Corona pages on the web presence of Kiel University.

With kind regards ,
