University information event about the energy saving measures at the CAU

Dear members of the university,
dear colleagues,
dear students,

We have successfully been saving energy at the CAU for several years now, via structural and technical measures as well as changes in behaviour by the university members. The current situation regarding the supply of energy resulting from Russia's attack on Ukraine now requires us to make further efforts. Since 1 October we have been actively implementing measures at the CAU with the goal of complying with the government’s Ordinance on Securing the Energy Supply through Rapid Impact Measures (EnSikuMaV). In a digital information event for the members of the university

on 4 November 2022, from 9:30 to 11am

we would like to explain the current measures and the background behind them.

If you are interested in attending, please send an e-mail to: gebaeudemanagement@uni-kiel.de.

This event is aimed at all members of the university who are interested in the topic and will provide insight into the decisions that have been made as well as what is still to come, particularly in terms of the step-by-step plan. The potential energy saving measures that have been compiled are necessary in order to ensure Germany’s supply of gas and to comply with the associated specifications by the Federal Government, as well as due to rising prices in the energy sector.

The only way to ensure the energy supply over the coming months is through the active participation by everyone at the university. Help with this can be found here: www.uni-kiel.de/de/energiesparen.

Should you have any questions or comments, Facility Management at the CAU will be happy to support and advise you with implementing energy saving measures. In this case, please contact: energiesparen@uni-kiel.de.

The explicit goal of the CAU is to maintain on-site teaching and research at the CAU as best we can. This makes saving energy an even more important joint task. Each and every one of us can do our bit towards achieving as much savings potential as possible, which is why we ask that everyone makes an active contribution.

We hope you will be able to attend!

Thank you very much!
