Night of the Profs

The good news is: This year's Night of the Profs will take place! 

This long lecture night will take place on the campus as far as current regulations permit. We hope that the pandemic will allow the on-site event. Of course, we will also plan a parallel digital version. We expect a decision on the event format by the University Board by October, 1^st 2021. This year, the motto of the "Night of the Profs" is:

"Crisis - Opportunity - Change".

The triad that has been much talked about in recent months will shape the range of topics at this year's event. More than ever before, science is currently being heard in society and politics; at the same time, it is being criticised and questioned. Together, all institutes of Kiel University will show that research results offer answers to diverse social, ecological, economic, technological or religious questions, not only in times of a pandemic. Science-based solutions often imply different options for action and interpretation, they offer opportunities for reflection and discussion, for innovation and progress. This forms the basis for potential change in thinking and action.
