Commissioners for family affairs

In spring of 2012 CAU established commissioners for family affairs. Since then they became active in planning and implementing themes that are relevant for families in the interest of a family oriented university. The commissioners for family affairs are the interface between the family service, which is located within the central administration, and the faculties and Clusters of Excellence.

The main tasks the commissioners for family affairs have are e.g.:

• first contact persons for employees / students concerned

• surveying and forwarding specific problems the faculty or Cluster of Excellence has with the compatibility of work/studies and family needs

• spreading information from the family service to the faculty or Cluster of Excellence

• communicating family relevant themes to the faculty convention

• participation in planning and implementing the goals of the audit „family oriented university“

The commissioners for family affairs are members of the also new established „Working group for compatibility of work/studies and family needs” that is chaired by the vice president for scientific and technological transfer as well as Diversity Management. Responsible for the nomination of the commissioner for family affairs is the dean of the faculty.
