The research focus of the Faculty of Agricultural and Nutritional Science is called Resource-saving Agriculture as a Basis for Nutrition and Health. In this context, this faculty and the Faculty of Medicine have established the Center for Preventive Nourishment and Food-Research. The faculty also plays a particular role in the Cluster Kiel Life Science.
