Calls for proposals will be given out on the basis of an annual program and are connected to distinct themes. Additionally, there are calls for proposal not linked to certain themes.
"People": The 'Marie Curie Actions' have been developed to respond to the needs of Europe's scientific community in terms of training, mobility and career development. Funds are also allocated to collaboration projects between science and commerce. The call for proposals will be in effect annually and will not be restricted to specific themes.
"Ideas": The newly established European Research Council (ERC) funds individuals. The call for proposals will be in effect annually and will not be restricted to specific themes.
