Energy Solutions

In order for the energy transition to be successful, renewable energy sources must be identified, stored efficiently, and innovative infrastructures and technologies for their deployment and exploitation developed: Kiel University (CAU) sees itself as responsible for making a contribution to the energy transition. Scientists from various disciplines apply themselves to current energy transition questions, and present their solution approaches to industry and the public at the Hannover Messe 2018.

Tech Solutions

Technologies of the future are already changing our way of life today: cleverly deployed, they open up new fields of business, resolve problems, and offer undreamed-of possibilities for process optimisation. Kiel University (CAU) offers basic research in the engineering and natural sciences, which can be applied in practice and made useful for industry. From material sciences to inorganic chemistry, right through to functional materials, scientists will present their technological solutions to industry and the public at the Hannover Messe 2018.

Student Solutions

Innovation needs to be learned:  Kiel University (CAU) helps its students to pursue their ideas and research questions. Often, ideas lead to specific founding initiatives, start-ups, and ultimately to established companies. Assisting them on this path is Kiel University’s Zentrum für Entrepreneurship (Centre for Entrepreneurship, ZfE). At the Hannover Messe 2018, current and former students present their innovative solutions to industry and the public.

Health & Social Solutions

The interaction between man and the environment is complex. It includes the individual, as well as social communities and global networks, matters of health as well as those of good, peaceful co-existence. At Kiel University (CAU), dedicated researchers are individually and collectively seeking new strategies against antibiotic resistance, to achieve sustainable economic cycles, or reduce plastic waste in the sea. The goal is to achieve science-based, well-balanced solutions that are ecologically, economically and socially acceptable.  These will be presented to industry and the public at the Hannover Messe 2018.
