Enable Uploads for Learners

Enable uploads for learners (text documents, images,...) is a tool for learner participation, which can be enabled for seminars. Learners can upload files (see Learning with Nickels -> Upload Files) visible only for the tutor. In turn tutors have the possibility to make learner's files available for all seminar members. The next few steps describe how to enable these uploads.

1. Switch to tutor mode -> on the upper left corner of your window.
2. Press the tab 'Settings', then you see following screen (figure below).

3. There are three options in the target pulldown 'Upload Documents': no upload, upload for tutors and upload for tutors and learners (see figure above).
4. The difference between these settings is shown in the folder Documents (or 'Dokumente') on the bottom left corner:
   • No 'Upload Documents': no documents can be uploaded by the learner, the folder Documents (or 'Dokumente') doesn't exist.
   • 'Upload Documents' for tutors: only 'General available files' can be uploaded (by the tutor).
   • 'Upload Documents' for tutors and learners: 'General available files' and 'Private files' can be uploaded by the tutor and also the learner can upload 'private files' (possibility to make them visible for tutors).
5. The tutor has also the option to take a look to all learners files that were made visible for tutors (tab Learners files).
6. Don't forget to save your changes!
7. Switch to learning mode -> and test the enabled upload options.
