Biweekly Colloquium "Investigating early farming practice and diet through crop stable isotope ratios" Amy Boogard, University of Oxford
Abstract: Manuring can have a radical impact on stable nitrogen isotope ratios in crops and,by extension, in crop consumers. In this talk I present the results of an investigation into the effect of manuring on modern cereals and pulses. I illustrate the implications of these results for reconstruction of early farming practice and diet through a series of archaeological case studies. |
