Excursion Course to Turkey and Syria

This excursion course explores the archaeology of two important periods in Turkey and Syria: the Neolithic and Chalcolithic. The Neolithic saw the use of the first plant and animal domesticates, complex villages, and elaborate symbolic expression, while social and economic developments during the Chalcolithic set the stage for the emergence of urban societies in Mesopotamia. This excursion course is offered in conjunction with the Übung “Introduction to the Neolithic and Chalcolithic Archaeology of Turkey and Syria”.

The aproximate costs for the whole excursion course are 900€. The excursion is open to all members of the gradute school. If you would like to register, please write to Rhina Colunge. Deadline to register is Friday the 13th of May, 2011.
