Bi-weekly colloquium
The Bi-weekly Colloquium takes place every second Monday during the teaching terms. During the past years, it has been a forum where students discussed their work, distinguished guests have presented lectures, new members of the school have introduced themselves and their research. The speakers from three continents invited to date covered the full interdisciplinary range of the GS, from Philology to Life Sciences, from theoretical concepts and methodological approaches to the presentation of research projects. "Buffet" of courses (optional courses and practical training)
Optional courses are an important part of the educational GS concepts. Offered as a buffet (64 courses in phase 1 so far, the students can attend the courses they need and also propose topics. Some of these courses were already offered at CAU and were sometimes modified for the needs of the GS, others were created especially for the GS.
The optional courses are offered mainly by the academic staff and by qualified PhD students, which gives them an excellent opportunity to get their first experience as lecturer. Hired consultants complement the offer. Link to the list of courses.
