Scope of the Workshop
The workshop aims to create an international exchange network of young researchers in the fields noof Humanities and Natural Sciences interested in exploring the interdisciplinary character of marble and its influence on past societies and landscapes.
The main goals of this workshop are:
- to provide the participants with a discussion frame for their research projects (Sections 1 to 3) and
to offer them an insight into the practical skills necessary for interdisciplinary investigation methods (Special Courses).

Registration
The registration fee for participants (15€) includes the book of abstracts, coffee breaks and the excursion. It is to be paid in cash on the first day of the workshop.
The Sections I to III and most of the Special Courses are open to everyone interested in the workshop’s topic. Due to logistic reasons attendance of the course „Petrographical Aspects of Stones Used in Antiquity“ is limited to max. 20 participants.
In order to attend the workshop please register by sending an email to:
marmorworkshop@gshdl.uni-kiel.de until 8th of April 2010. The registration fee for attendees (10€/5€ for students) covers the book of abstracts and the coffee breaks and should be paid in cash on the first day of attendance.

a.- The Hamburg International Airport is only 85 km away from Kiel. Schedules and detailed information are available here: www.ham.airport.de
Arriving at Hamburg International Airport you will have to catch the airport shuttle “Kielius” from Terminal 4 to the Kiel Main Station (Kiel Hauptbahnhof). The bus “Kielius” leaves Hamburg every hour. A one-way ticket costs approx. € 16 (round-trip € 27) Information about the bus schedule can be found at: www.kielius.de
