  • Investigation of the molecular basis of human longevity and complex diseases using high-throughput technologies (projects funded by EU 7. FP, DFG, INTERREG 4A Syddanmark-Schleswig-K.E.R.N., Danone Foundation)
  • Analysis of (human) genetic diversity in the present and the past, including ancient DNA research to address archaeological and anthropological questions, e.g. reconstruction of migrations, domestication of animals, effect of epidemics (projects funded by DFG-SPP 1400)
