Kiel University is extremely satisfied with this year's appearance at the Hannover Messe. Since Monday, the state university has offered visitors to the world's largest industrial trade show a jam-packed programme, with 35 presentations and plenty of opportunities for good conversations. The latest scientific projects - with exotic names like Aquacube, Metalangelo or Rollflex - attracted many interested visitors throughout the week. Technology platforms such as the Kiel Competence Center Nanosystem Technology and the Science Communication Lab successfully introduced their services to businesses and scientists. The partner programmes, such as the Schleswig-Holstein Day co-hosted with the state on Monday, the Big Science Conference featuring major European research facilities like XFEL, CERN and ESA on Wednesday, and the Kiel Day jointly presented with KiWi (Kieler Wirtschaftsförderung) on Thursday were also very popular with visitors to the trade show.

"Our concept for this year's Hannover Messe was widely acclaimed. The feedback we received from the Deutsche Messe AG, other exhibitors and politicians was purely positive," summarised CAU President Professor Lutz Kipp. A secret to this success is the topical diversity of the subjects presented, according to the president: "We didn’t only focus on technical topics, but showcased the entire spectrum of university subjects. This was very well received. I am particularly pleased that during the past five days, our scientists not only made contact with renowned companies such as Siemens, Huawei, Bosch or Vestas, but also with colleagues from other universities and research institutions. This promises exciting follow-up projects."

A trade show appearance such as that by Kiel University and its partners in Hanover is ultimately the result of the successful teamwork of many contributors: "The challenge was complex this year. We managed it confidently with our partners. Everyone involved played a role in the successful participation. It was a fantastic team effort," praised Kipp. Next year, Sweden is the trade show’s partner country. "This provides the north with the opportunity to present itself internationally as a research and innovation region."

From 23 to 27 April, Kiel University (CAU) presented its excellent research at the Hannover Messe. Under the motto "Ways to Solutions" the state university demonstrated: science affects society in many different ways. It contributes to exchanges, solves tricky problems and creates new scenarios. Participation at the trade show focussed on presentations and exhibits associated with cutting-edge research, the transfer of knowledge, patents and initiatives to establish companies. Presentations and panel discussions rounded off the varied programme during the week. All information can be found here:
