How to find us?

By public transport

From Kiel main train station you can take bus number 81/82 (direction botanical garden) and exit at the final bus stop "Botanischer Garten" (botanical garden; travel time approx. 25 min); the zoological institute is in the small tower building (biology tower) across the parking lot and next to the botanical garden. Alternatively, take bus number 61/62 and exit at Universitaets-Sportstaetten (University sports center; travel time approx. 20 min). You then take the footpath in between the swimming centre (right-hand side) and small departmental buildings (left-hand side). You follow the path until you reach the small biology tower building on your right side (directly after the second lake on your right side). Our department is on the second floor of the biology tower! To plan your bus ride, check the pages of Kiel public transport (only in German)!

Trains to Kiel

Flights

The closest airport is Hamburg airport (airport Hamburg Fuhlsbüttel). There is a direct bus connection in between the airport and Kiel main train station/central bus station; the slow option is the Kielius bus, while the fast and more convenient option is the Kiel Exx taxibus, which takes you directly to any destination in Kiel. As another aternative, you can take the S Bahn to Hamburg train station and then a train to Kiel. Please check Deutsche Bahn for details.
