April 2021

New students in the lab: Jule Truberg is joining us for her Master thesis project. She previously was in the lab for 6-week project working on CRISPR knock-ins and will continue with that line of work. Fenja Bahr and Daniel Meisinger started to work on their respective Bachelor thesis projects dealing with glycosyltransferase proteolysis in the Golgi.

December 17^th, 2020

We are very happy that this year's Master thesis award goes to Lukas Heintz, who did his thesis project in our lab on endogenous tagging using CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing until early this year. It is awarded annually by the local juniorGBM branch in Kiel. Congratulations, Lukas!

Autumn 2020

Busy autumn: A total of four students enrolled in the Biochemistry/Molecular Biology Master program spent time with us for productive and successful short-term projects, covering techniques ranging from CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing and molecular cloning to protein biochemistry.

March 2020

Anna Hofmann, MD student in the lab, received the Young Investigator Award for the work she presented at the Protease Winter School in Tiers this year. Congratulations!

January 2020

A joint project with Gregor Maschkowitz, Institute of Infection Medicine at the University Hospital in Kiel, aiming to understand the biological function of the antiviral tumor suppressors SAMD9 and SAMD9L will be supported with generous start-up funding from the Department of Medicine at Kiel University.

April 1^st, 2019

Two new students in the lab: Anna Hofman is joining as for her MD thesis project, is funded by the CRC877's MD student programme and will stay for one year. Lukas Heintz joins us to conduct reesearch for a Master's thesis project and will stay until the end of the year.

March 6^th, 2019

The lab was awarded funding by the Kiel Life Science (KLS) Young Scientist Programme. Much appreciated!
