3G proofs in the workplace and home office duty

Dear members of our University,

last Friday, we informed you about the upcoming changes impacting our operations here at Kiel University.

As of today, you will find latest updates on the Corona website about the requirements for all employees to proof their 3G status; they will come into effect on November 24. Further to this, you will find detailed information about the home office duty which has been reintroduced Germany-wide, as well as about working on site. Please note, this "home office duty" doesn´t apply automatically: Working from home is only possible in agreement with your supervisor!

Please note university buildings may only be entered with a valid 3G proof. This applies to all members and guests of the university, as well as service providers working here.

Supervisors are responsible to check and document 3G certificates of their staff. Please follow the respective links to our handout for supervisors and a documentation form (vaccinated+recovered) / documentation form (tested persons). Please note, individuals who are neither vaccinated nor recovered from COVID-19 must present a negative antigen test conducted by an external test centre; this needs to be done each day they work on site. The rapid tests provided by the CAU are not accepted as a proof, even if they are conducted under supervision! We will provide further information on how to check and document the 3G certificates of the professors as soon as possible.

You may expect another email shortly detailing further changes in university operations.

Yours sincerely
Claudia Meyer
