This year, the "Night of the Profs" will take place on 17th November.
The motto of the long lecture night in 2023 is: "Meinung. Macht. Wissen."(Opinion. Power. Knowledge.)
This gets to the heart of what we do as a university. Knowledge through research and teaching not only helps society, it can also enable it to focus on what is important. But when is knowledge knowledge? And what is opinion? What role does power play? Consistently, opinions are expressed that seek to influence us. But what are these powerful opinions based on? Why do misleading statements manage to attract so much attention? After all, opinions and powers are useless without knowledge - one would think.
The Night of the Profs remains free of charge. During the event, drinks and food can be purchased on the Audimax forecourt.
The Night of the Profs is organised jointly by the University Board, the Students' Union Executive Committee and the Students' Representative Council.
