Kiel University is keen to transfer knowledge to society. This is achieved by exhibitions at the CAU's museums, collections and gardens and by lecture series. Public events such as the "Night of the Profs", exciting experiments at Kieler Woche or workshops at the Kieler Forschungswerkstatt attract guests of all ages. Music and choral ensembles offer a variety of cultural experiences, from the weekly lunchtime matinee to semester concerts.
A lecture series is a series of events with a lecture character that usually takes place weekly. Various professors from the university or guest speakers give lectures with a thematic focus. These include, for example, medical, socio-political, sports or the humanities. Attendance at the lecture series (or individual dates) is free of charge. Lecture series are open to the general public. They are presented in an understandable way and prepared for non-specialists.
University church services take place during lecture time on Sundays at 10:30 am in the University Church on Westring.

The Centre for Entrepreneurship (ZfE) offers support and events for start-ups, for founders and for everyone interested in start-ups. A series of events is the start-up Friday.
The Schleswig-Holsteinische Universitäts-Gesellschaft (SHUG) offers individual lectures, university weeks, member evenings and excursions. The SHUG's main events are lectures held by CAU professors from all faculties.
