Platforms and Networks
The Kiel Marine Science (KMS) research focus area is connected with regional, national, and international scientific and marine policy networks. Additionally, through its membership, KMS cooperates closely with institutions linked to Kiel University such as the FTZ in Büsum, and has access to technical resources including from the Institute for Geosciences and the Research Diving Group. Through interfaculty platforms such as the Center for Ocean and Society (CeOS), Kiel Marine Science maintains a focus on transdisciplinary research into the seas and coasts, as well as organising exchanges and joint research projects with interest groups from politics, business and civil society.
