By bike
It is easy to get to the central campus by bike from the city centre and from the northern and western outskirts of the city. At this moment the Veloroute is under construction but in future it will connect the campus even better to the Kiel's network of cycle tracks.
By car
From Hamburg and Rendsburg:
- Via A215
- Take the exit Kiel-Mitte and follow the B76 towards Eckernförde until you reach the exit Universität/Wissenschaftspark/Nordfriedhof/Holsteinstadion
- Turn right onto Westring and follow the road until you get to Christian-Albrechts-Platz
From Lübeck:
- From the B404 at Barkauer Kreuz, onto the B76 towards Eckernförde until you reach the exit Universität/Wissenschaftspark/Nordfriedhof/Holsteinstadion
- Turn right onto Westring and follow the road until you get to Christian-Albrechts-Platz
From Eckernförde:
- Via the B76 until the reach the exit B503/Altenholz/Kiel-Wik/Flughafen/Olympiazentrum
- Turn right onto Westring and follow the road until you get to Christian-Albrechts-Platz
From Plön:
- Via the B76 until you reach the exit Universität/Wissenschaftspark/Nordfriedhof/Holsteinstadion
- Turn right onto Westring and follow the road until you get to Christian-Albrechts-Platz
Parking:
There are public parking spaces along Westring and Olshausenstraße. University members and guests can also use the car parks on Am Studentenhaus and Fraunhoferstraße.

- Leave this road at the exit Fähre/HDW/Segeberger Landstraße
- Turn left onto Sörensenstraße and continue along Werftstraße
- Turn right onto Kaiserstraße
From Lübeck und Eckernförde:
- Follow the B76 until the exit Fähre/HDW/Segeberger Landstraße
- Turn left onto Sörensenstraße and continue along Werftstraße
- Turn right onto Kaiserstraße
From Plön:
- Follow the B76 until you get to the B502 exit towards Laboe/Schönberg/Klaipeda/Ostuferhafen/Fähre/Zentrum
