Construction Measures and Campus Development
Dear Reader,
2016 is a year of new beginnings for Kiel University in many ways. The start of construction in March for the new medical campus marked the first visible sign. Preliminary planning for the entire Kiel campus on Westufer and Ostufer is currently in full swing. A total of 215 million Euros in special funding is coming from the state of Schleswig-Holstein for the Anger-Bauten, faculty blocks, Animal Facility (Hensen/Höber House) and Faculty of Engineering building measures. A further 86.9 million Euros in special funding will go towards the Faculty of Medicine's research and teaching campus. On this basis, the campus at Kiel University will be turned upside down and completely redeveloped over the coming 10 to 15 years.
This new beginning arose from the backlog of much needed and growing need for redevelopment. But it will also be associated with interference with the normal everyday operations. Facility Management at Kiel University will use this Intranet platform to keep you informed about the detailed planning and progress being made within the large construction measures, as well as general notifications on the campus development. Clear information and careful planning aims to keep the negative impacts you will experience as minimal as possible.
You can also subscribe via RSS feeds to receive the notifications by email.
All construction measures will be coordinated and planned by the team at Kiel University's Facility Management, and implemented in close cooperation with GMSH. In accordance with Kiel University's strategic goals, the measures will be extensively accessible to wheelchair users and implemented on a sustainable basis.
