Workshop “Biometrical Aspects of Genome Analysis XIII”

(Formerly Rauischholzhausen Workshop)

21st-22nd February 2019 in Lübeck (Germany)

Workshop Outline:

This workshop aims at bringing together researchers from different disciplines dealing with the analysis of genetic and genomic data. Educational talks will present state-of-the-art statistical methods and demonstrate their practical application. Participants will present their own research and are encouraged to discuss open questions related to their work.

Invited Talks:

  1. Handling of cell-type heterogeneity in epigenome-wide association studies
    Andrew E. Teschendorff
Statistical Cancer Genomics, UCL Cancer Institute & Dept. of Woman's Cancer, University College London, London, UK; CAS Max-Planck Partner Institute for Computational Biology, Shanghai Institute of Biological Sciences, Shanghai, China
  2. Single cell isolation and analysis: Methods and applications
    Stefan Kirsch
Fraunhofer Institute for Toxicology and Experimental Medicine, Regensburg

Registration and Abstract Submission:

Registration to the workshop is free as long as places are available.
The deadline for abstract submission is 15th December 2018. The notification of acceptance of abstracts will be sent until 4th January 2019.
Contributions on genomic and genetic data analysis are welcome. We explicitly encourage the submission of work in progress and on unsolved issues.

For registration and abstract submission, please sent an e-mail to genomanalyse@medinfo.uni-kiel.de. For abstract preparation, please use the provided Word template.

Workshop Venue:

The workshop will take place at the University of Lübeck.
Further information about the venue and directions will be provided soon.

Organisation:

The workshop is jointly organized by the working groups “Human Genetics” of the GMDS (Maren Vens, Dmitriy Drichel), “Genetic Epidemiology” of the DGEpi (Sonali Pechlivanis, Peter Ahnert) and “Population Genetics and Genome Analysis” of the IBS-DR (Silke Szymczak, Miriam Kesselmeier).

Support:

This workshop is financially supported by the "Deutsche Gesellschaft für Medizinische Informatik, Biometrie und Epidemiologie (GMDS)", the „Deutsche Gesellschaft für Epidemiologie (DGEpi)“ and the „Deutsche Region der Internationalen Biometrischen Gesellschaft (IBS-DR)“.
